RISE Troops Challenge - BEND

October 9, 2021  8:30am

Wanoga Sno Park

Bend, OR

and can I do it?

Central Oregon has many races throughout the year and although they are unique in their own ways, they are nothing like this race.  To honor those who serve, all obstacles and challenges will be based upon actual military tactical skills and training challenges across the branches.

Can you carry an ammo can to resupply everyone, carry your injured buddy to the evac chopper, and run the Braveheart Battlefield Gauntlet to victory? YES! You have it in you! All events are designed and created for any physical ability. They are attainable to the newbie and challenging for the fittest. We have training available to prepare you for success. You also have the option to go through the event as a team. In the team event, everyone can help each other through all obstacles and challenges.

Conquer the military style walls, embrace your grit and warrior spirit through challenges that include sandbags, military based fitness tasks, carrying, and crawling. Calm yourself and overcome fatigue to hit the air soft target. Also, don’t forget to look around and take in the beauty of the Central Oregon mountains!

RISE Troops Challenge also builds community. As racers finish, we often see them cheering on those still racing. It is about everyone accomplishing their goal and helping others. Past events have had veterans and active duty members out in force alongside those new to obstacle racing. Friendships are formed and the camaraderie is contagious. Finishers often head back out onto the course to encourage others. This is much bigger than just a race, fitness challenge, or competition. This is about facing challenges, rising above them, and setting new goals, all while honoring those who serve and sacrifice so much, and bonding with a like minded community. Of course we have fun, the pride of accomplishment, and memories to create along the way!

The courses

To honor those who serve, all obstacles and challenges will be based on actual military tactical skills and training challenges across the branches. Embrace your grit, strength, and warrior spirit with challenges that include sandbags, running, crawling, climbing, and ammo-can hauls. Calm yourself and overcome fatigue to hit the air-soft target. Challenge yourself with the fitness test (there will be pull ups!). All this in beautiful Bend, OR.

This is the basic challenge course: approximately 3 miles filled with military-inspired obstacles and challenges. It will test all aspects of strength and fitness. Suitable for newbies, or beginners. Obstacles, such as the walls, are less advanced.

After completing the short course, those who have chosen the long course will move on to an advanced phase: Rucking, advanced obstacles, and a few Ranger inspired “surprises” on the way.!

*You Must Bring a ruck minimum 40# for males and 25# for females OR ask us 2 weeks in advance, we have a very limited supply of sandbags to borrow. Any back pack counts capable of carrying the weight. Weight vests are also fine, as long as you are not going for an award.

Anyone willing to grit it out can do the Long Course, not just advanced athletes.

After Party

Entry includes the after race “Morale Event” with music, food, and (of course) beer thanks to our good friends at Braveheart Brewing! As well as an awards ceremony.
